James Raleigh Green was born November 17, 1907 in Paulding County, Georgia. He attended Gann and Dallas High Schools. A Deacon, Chairman of Board of Deacons of Pumpkinvine Baptist Church. He was very active in Church work; Sunday School Teacher. He was employed with U.S. Government (Fort McPherson) for 32 years. He served in the U.S. Navy Seabees during World War II. Raleigh lived in Atlanta for 24 years before moving back to Paulding County. He was, in his early years, a baseball player with the Dallas Team. He was a good and accommodating neighbor and a faithful member of his church and well loved by everyone. Raleigh died March 9, 1987 in Paulding County, Georgia. Buried at the Dallas Memory Gardens, Dallas, Georgia.
