Geneva Butler, age 87, of Dallas, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2008. A native of Paulding County, she was born November 20, 1920. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Green and Velie Adair Green, and a grandson, Chad Butler. Geneva retired at the age of 77, after 35 years of service as a dietary aide for the Medical Arts Hospital and Paulding Hospital. She was a member of Pumpkinvine Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Rene Butler and wife, Sheila of Dallas; daughter, Treva Hayes of Dallas; grandson, Tony Hayes of Dallas; several special nieces and nephews, whom she regarded with great love.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2008, at 3:00pm, from Pumpkinvine Baptist Church, with Reverend Brad Benson, Reverend Wiley Butler, Reverend Thomas Cole, and Reverend Mike Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Dallas Memory Gardens. Wayne Steele, R. T. Josey, Steve Voyles, Andy Clay, Brent Forister, Jerry Coalson, Jimmy Maxwell, Josh Banta, and Reece Brown will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be, Sam Braly, Bobby Bonds, Randy Bowan, Shane Cochran, Gerald Bradberry, Kenneth Fennell, Wayne Cole, Steve Josey and Kevin McClure. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm.
