John F Fear was the son of William G and Juda Ferguson Fear. He married Sarah Ann Chriss in 1860 and they had 5 children: Judith, Sarah, George, Jefferson, and Benjamin Franklin Fear. After Sarah died, he married Zerrilda Ann Clark in 1872 and had 5 children with Zerrilda: Frank, Hugh, Bertha (my Great Grandmother), Edward, and Fannie Fear. After Zerrilda's death, he married Elizabeth Reed Wagner.

Fell Over Dead - John Fear Expires from Heart Failure

John Fear, a well known and highly esteemed farmer of Willow Hill township, was found dead about six o'clock Wednesday afternoon, in a field in the vicinity of the Catt school house. Mr. Fear had been plowing and was last seen alive about 4:30 p.m. by Miss Ella Catt and Mrs. James Keeler. When discovered he was lying on the ground, the lines over his shoulder and a pair of horses standing hitched to a plow which they had been pulling. Death is supposed to have been caused by heart trouble.

Mr. Fear was 76 years old, was married three times, and is survived by his third wife, eight children, nine step-children, grand-children, great-grand-children and other relatives. Funeral at 2 p.m. today.
