Mr. Everett Stephen "Cob" Aldridge, 79, died Thursday night at Satilla Regional Medical Center following a short illness.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Ware County and a son of the late John Elzie Aldridge and Maude Dukes Aldridge ;; also preceded in death by two sisters, Lillian Griffis and Betty Jean Weeks; and two brothers, Elbert Aldridge and Ed Aldridge.

He was retired from Scapa Dryers and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include four sisters,
Lucille Smith of Waycross,
Louell Dixon (husband Gene) of Columbia, SC,
Jo Ann Razzano of Largo, FL,
Mary Meurer of Folson, CA;
two brothers,
Billy Aldridge (wife Becky) of Windsor, MO,
Bobby Aldridge (wife Louise) of Anniston, AL;
three special friends,
Ronald Crawford, Sue Capshaw, and Aimee Aldridge all of Waycross;
and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday (November 4, 2007) at Music Funeral Home. Burial will be Oakland Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Saturday night from 6 until 8.
