Virginia Green was the daughter of King Sowell, Sr. and Mahaley Woodson. She was the granddaughter of Hyram and Rachel Sowell, one of the first settlors in St. John Community. Virginia married William Oliver "Sonny" Green. Virginia's siblings were: Eddie (Buck) Sowell; Lonnie Sowell; and King Sowell, Jr. Virginia was interred in the "Weeks Graveyard", home of the present-day burial grounds for ancestors and descendants known as St. John Cemetery, located in the St. John Community.
