At Dancy last night, after an illness of about two yrs, the result of a complication of diseases, compiled with old age, Rupaire Gotchy passed over the river of life, aged 78 yrs. The deceased was born in Canada, coming to this country 46 yrs ago and located at Fond Du Lac. For over a quarter of a century he lived in that city and for the past 20 yrs had resided at Dancy. He was well known to many old settlers here and universally respected. A wife, five daughters, Mrs. Nelson Strong of this city, Mrs. Ellen Brown of Tomahawke, Mrs. Flora Allen of La Crosse, Mrs. Agnes Kelly and Mrs. Elizabeth Morrill of Dancy, and two sons, Charles of Antigo and William whose where abouts are unknown, are left.
The remains will be brought to the home of his daughter Mrs. Nellie Strong 228 4th Ave tomorrow and the funeral will take place from St. Stephens Church at 9 o'clock Friday morning.
