Although the stone clearly says 1858 for year of birth her obituary says she was born in 1865.

Ellen came to Tomahawk in 1887 from Fond du Lac. She was first married to George Brown, who died in 1901. She married her second husband, Joseph Carter, in 1903, he survives. Also surving are two daughters, Mrs. Alex Eiserman of Wausau and Alice Brown of Laurel, Montana. She is also survived by two sons, Harvey Brown and William Carter, both of Tomahawk.
