New Iberia - Arrangements are pending for Carol E. Lyons, 74, who passed away on Monday, June 28, 2021, in New Iberia.

Frances Carroll Ewing Lyons was born in Cypremort Point, Louisiana on March 29, 1947, and was a graduate of Franklin High School. She retired as a bank teller from First National Bank of Jeanerette with over 30 years of service. Carol was funny, and loved to laugh and tell jokes (she even laughed at her own jokes!). She was an excellent cook, and enjoyed watching cooking shows and Fox News. She and her late husband, Leon "Picky" loved going to the casino and playing bingo. Carol was an avid video gamer; she especially enjoyed playing Nintendo and tending to her township (virtual farm). She was very wise, and gave great advice. Carol was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed.

Mrs. Lyons is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Champagne and husband, Aaron of New Iberia; a brother, Barry Ewing of Cypremort Point; two grandchildren, Blake Braud and Triston Derouen of New Iberia; and a great-grandchild, Lyric Braud.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon "Picky" Paul Lyons, Jr.; two brothers, George William Ewing, Jr. and John Wayne Ewing; and her parents, George William Ewing, Sr.; and Bernice Miguez Ewing.

Pallbearers will be Blake Braud, Triston Derouen, Aaron Champagne, Joey Champagne, Bradley Derouen, and Kevin Haycock. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Burguieres, Glenn Stroud, Joey Bove.

Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd., New Iberia, LA 70560, (337-365-3331) is in charge of arrangements.
