She was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant Senior High School. She began her career with James Gayton III Architectural Firm and then as a medial assistant for Dr. Eva Gayton, M.D. Upon marriage, she moved to Fairmont, WV and worked for Dr. David Bonasso, D.M.D., as a dental assistant and later as the office manager. After retirement, she took a part time job with Dr. Catherine Connor, D.D.S.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 44 years, Thomas Alan Racan, who was her caregiver for the last four years; and the following siblings, two sisters, Mary Jane Makar of Unity Township and Rosalie Pfrogner of Vanderbilt; one brother, William Uhor of Greensburg; and the following nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, Christen, (Scott), Tyler, and Garrett Stercho, Steven, (Elaine), Sarah, and Ryan Makar, Kevin, (Brenda), and Corbin Makar, Frank, (Melissa), and Spencer Pfrogner, Kimberly, (Joe), Kaylin, and Jeremy O'Wade, and Brad Pfrogner; her favorite brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gary and Kim Racan; and her cat and lap buddy, Millie.
She loved cooking, baking, and especially family gatherings. She spent many years doing ceramics and toll painting.
We will all miss your pretty face and smile, Aunt Jannie.
The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont, on Sunday, July 11, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Florian Catholic Church, 4623 Route 981, Mt. Pleasant, PA 15666, on Monday, July 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Father John Sedlak as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, 318 Holly Place Road, Mt. Pleasant, PA 15666.
