PETER AUGUSTIN
(1870 - 1891)
A terrible accident occurred Mon. morning in Town Kossuth. Peter Augustin, a son of farmer Joseph Augustin, was busy hauling fertilizer across the fields and for some reason the horses shied and ran away. The young driver was thrown from the wagon and was dragged by the frightened horses. He ended up near the district schoolhouse and when found by the teacher and the children, he was still living but unable to talk. He was carried to the home of his parents where he shortly died from his injuries.
He was buried yesterday in the Catholic Cemetery in Francis Creek.
The unfortunate man had been born in Town Kossuth and was not quite 22 yrs. old.
