Obituary Raymond Nixon---

Raymond E. Nixon, 51, died April 16 in the Crete hospital after a long illness.

Funeral services were held at the Kunel Chapel Saturday, April 19 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Richard Atherton officiating. Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Lincoln, with masonic graveside services by Crete Masonic Lodge 37, A. F. & A. M.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret, daughter, Connie, and a grandson; a sister, Mrs. Zelma Glass of Lebanon, Mo., and a brother, Gilbert of York; five nephews, two nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James W. Nixon, and a brother, James Emerson Nixon. The Nixons came to Crete ten years ago where Mr. Nixon was an auctioneer and real estate dealer. He had taught vocational agriculture for veterans for several years until his health failed him four years ago.

He was born on a farm near Fairfield, Neb. March 28, 1907. He graduated from the Fairfield High School in 1925 and attended Nebraska College of Agriculture. He served two years as agriculture agent for Jefferson County, was affiliated with the Metropolitan Insurance Co. in Lincoln for several years and was a farmer near Diller for five years before moving to Crete.

He was married to Margaret Deborah Logan of Diller on April 25, 1936.
