Earl was born May 11 1921 in New Oxford, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Mamie(Frey) Byers. He was a member of Grace United Methodist church in Hanover and Trout Unlimited. He retired from the U.S. Post Office in Harrisburg, and was the owner and operator of Byers Tackle Shop in Hanover for 37 years. He was a World War II Army veteran, having served in the European theater of operations.
Surviving also are one son, Thomas A. Byers of Kitty Hawk, N.C.; two daughters, Tina L. Pirofsky of McSherrystown and Terri A. Byers of Hanover; one brother, Charles A. Byers of New Oxford; and one sister, Gloria Bankert of Hanover. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Tanya L. and Brenda Byers.
Burial will be in St. Paul's Dubs Church Cemetery in Hanover.
