At the age of 46, Helen took her grandson Johnnie into her home. She raised him as her own child, and he loved her like she was his mother. Though sometimes times were tough, she always managed to make things right somehow. Helen's strength in the face of adversity was a model to us all. She loved the color pink, roses, and her dogs. While she lay dying of cancer, her favorite dog would not leave her side. Soon after she went to her reward, he followed. She was loved by many and is missed every day.
Helen is buried in New Oxford Cemetary, New Oxford, PA next to her grandson Johnnie Raye Keller (also listed on Find A Grave).∼Helen was the fifth of six children born to Levi Lawrence Byers and Mamie Mae Frey. In 1941 she married Walter John Eberhardinger. They had one child: Annette Marie. Walter pre-deceased her in 1997. Her second husband was Francis Blake Keller.
