Naomi Eliza Dalton Pearson, age 87, died November 23, 2007 at the Avalon Care Center in Bountiful Utah. She was born 16 September 1920 in Moab, Utah to Albertus and Emma McConkie Dalton. She graduated from Grand Co. High School in Moab and then attended Utah State University. She graduated from the Logan LDS Institute of Religion. Prior to her marriage she worked for the Utah State Extension Service, both in the Moab office and the State Office in Logan. She married Gregory Leslie Pearson on 25 April 1941 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were the parents of nine children, four of whom survive.



They lived in Moab, Logan, Salt Lake City, Bountiful and Farmington in Utah, and in Portland, Oregon. Gregory died in SLC 28 November 2005. Naomi has been an active in the LDS Church all of her life. She served as a counselor in the Presidency of a Ward YWMIA, a Ward Relief Society, and a Stake Primary. She served on Stake Boards of all the auxiliaries. She was also a Branch, Ward, and Stake Relief Society President. She found great joy in teaching Gospel Doctrine classes all of her adult life. Following her husband's retirement, she served with him on two church missions in England the London Mission and at the London Temple. She was an ordinance worker there. She spent many years in genealogical research and wrote several books on family history.




She is survived by her daughter Leslie (Gerald S.) Rees of Salt Lake; sons Dr. G. George (Linda) of Salt Lake, Melvin J. (Mitzi) of Bountiful, and Bruce E. (Leslie) of Mesa; and son-in-law Carl M. Biehn (Mary-Jane) of Bountiful. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; brother Melvin Dalton; sisters Emma Jean Clark, Ellen Davis, Merle Bryner, and Ann (John) McLaughlin. She was preceded in death by her daughter Jean Biehn (Carl) and sons Paul, James, Floyd, and Joseph; two great-granddaughters Camilla Mischler and Sophia Rees; parents; and three brothers, Bertram, Grant, and George.



Funeral Services will be held at the Salt Lake Stake Center 142 W. 200 N., SLC, on Tuesday November 27, 2007 at 12:00 noon. Friends may call there prior to the service from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m.
Interment in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
