Bessie Hayman Johnson, 82, of Brinker Drive, died Thursday, April 15, 1999, in a Virginia Beach hospital.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Virginia Beach and was the former owner and operator of Angler's Cove. She was a Methodist. Mrs. Johnson was the daughter of the late Daniel Webster Hayman and the late Nettie Rebecca Waterfield Hayman. She was the widow of George Harvey Johnson.

Surviving Mrs. Johnson are her two daughters, Joyce Sneed of Surf City, N.C., and Mary Rebecca Clark-Bosch of Virginia Beach; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Lynnhaven United Methodist Church on Little Neck Road by the Rev. Tom Maddrey. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the American Heart Association or the charity of one's choice. The Cremation Society of Virginia is in charge of arrangements.
