Dolores (Tolen) Sparks, age 83, of Worthington, passed away peacefully at 3:45 p.m. on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at Ketcham Memorial Center in Odon. She was born in Switz City on September 5, 1938, the daughter of Robert & Martha (Vandeventer) Tolen.

She was a graduate of Switz City High School. She worked as a florist for most of her life in Worthington and then started a daycare after she retired. She also volunteered at the Sonshine Shop in Worthington.

She is survived by her son, Brian (Monica) Sparks of Linton; daughters, Kim (Mark) Downey and Shelly (Paul) Carrico both of Worthington; grandchildren, Stephen (Mindy) Sparks, Candi (Chris) Payne, Bryant (Sara) Sparks, Benn (Baileigh) Sparks, Nathan (Angie) Hostetter, Tyler Hostetter, Allie (Fiancé, Tyler) Downey, Christopher (Kiersten) Carrico and Kaitlin (Chris) Aydt; great-grandchildren, Peyton, Aspen, Brittyn, Dresden, Jadia, Sayla, Syann, Jayger, Jaymen, Nyleigh, Brinkley, Mark, Gavin, Kylee, Ruby, Hayden, Jackson, Rogue, Ryker, Blakely, Maverick, Kimber, Jameson, Adry and Lexi; brother, Larry Tolen; sister, Sherry (Ed) Crane; several nieces and nephews and many children she took care of over the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Morris Sparks; sister, Vicki Carpenter and sister-in-law, Hazel Tolen.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington on Friday, October 29, 2021. Burial will follow at Worthington Cemetery in Worthington.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, October 28, 2021 from 5-7 p.m., and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Ketcham Memorial Center for taking such good care of Dolores while she was in their care.
