Martha L. Tolen, 81, of Worthington, passed away at 5 a.m. Sunday, May 12, 2002, at her residence. Born Feb. 6, 1921, in Greene County, she was the daughter of Thomas and Alice (Barker) Vandeventer.

She was a homemaker, and a member of Nine Mile United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Dolores and Morris Sparks of Worthington and Sherry D. and Ed Crane of Bloomfield; one son and daughter-in-law, Larry L. and Hazel Tolen of Hermitage, Mo.; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Tolen on March 24, 1983; one daughter, Vickey M. Misner; one grandson, Jimmy Joe Crane; eight brothers; and four sisters.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Switz City Cemetery.
