Catherine Louise Willard, age 90 of Loretto, passed away peacefully at home Thursday, February 3, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was a loving mother, sister, nanny, aunt and a devout Catholic. She was born October 5, 1931 in St. Francis. She was preceded in death by her husband of twenty-nine years, Abriel Clinton "A.C" Willard who died October 26, 2012; one grandson, Frank Clinton Gognat IV; one son-in-law, Frank Gognat III, her parents, William Herbert "Herb" and Francis Susie Ruley Mattingly; two siblings, Norma Lee McQuillen and Joseph Marion "Jody" Mattingly.
Survivors include five daughters, 12 grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; five sisters, three brothers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Monday, February 7 2022 at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, Loretto. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. . Visitation is 1 – 8 pm Sunday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with rosary at 4:30 and a prayer service at 7 pm .
