Bill W. Ellison, 80, of Olney, died on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital.

Bill was born on January 31, 1942 in Olney, Illinois, the son of Earkles Ellison and Virginia (Bemont) Ellison.

He married Jackie Rae (Harper) on June 17, 1962 in Olney, Illinois, and she survives.

Bill loved to fish, garden, and be outside. He spent hours tinkering with things; taking them apart and putting them back together again. Bill took pleasure in sharing his knowledge with others. Bill was passionate about country music. He played guitar and sang. Bill performed live with many well-known country music stars and traveled the Midwest singing and playing.

Bill was also a member of Antioch Christian Church.

Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jackie Ellison of Olney; sons, Justin Ellison, Daren Ellison, Travis (Krissy) Ellison, and Marty (Heather) Ellison; mother, Virginia Ellison; grandchildren, Savannah, Dessiree, Kaitlyn, Tiffany, Ryan, and Natalie; sister, Ann (Rick) Shuck; brother, Eddie Jay (Cindy) Ellison; special uncle, Harold Gene Ellison; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; and brothers, Robert Ellison and Terry Ellison.

A funeral service will be held for Bill at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 14, 2022 in the Hope Chapel at Crest Haven Memorial Park in Claremont, with a visitation beginning one hour before service time at the cemetery.
