Funeral Saturday For Mrs. Wommack

Burial in Wichita, Following Services First Baptist Church Here

Last rites for Mrs. Ula c. Wommack, 84, who died following a heart attack at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lula Arters, 1021 East Broadway last Wednesday morning, were held at 9:30 Saturday morning in the First Baptist church. Rev. Lewis G. Prince of Tulsa, a former pastor, conducted the service.

A mixed quartet composed of Mrs. Lynn Faling, Mrs. Roy G. Moses, Quentin Benedict, and Valcus Young sang "Abide With Me" and "The Haven Of Rest".

Mrs. Leroy Osborn played the organ accompaniment. Pallbearers were T. A. Holland, George Berry, Lynn Faling. A. D. Mays, Lloyd Escott, and Andy Fisher.

A large floral offering banked the front of the church and many relatives and friends attended the service. The T.E.L. Bible class of which Mrs. Wommack was an active member attended the service in a body. Burial under direction of the H. A. Davis Funeral Home, was made in the Highland cemetery at Wichita, Kansas, beside the grave of her husband who preceded her in death April 10, 1940.

Wommack Rites Planned Saturday

Graveside services for Mrs. Ula C. Wommack, 85-year-old former Wichitan, who died Wednesday at Cushing, Okla., will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Highland cemetery. Dr. F. B. Thorn, pastor of First Baptist church, will officiate.

She was born in Georgia in 1867 and came to Wichita in 1885 with her father, John H. Shields, former Wichita postmaster and newspaperman. She moved from Wichita in 1910.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. H. H. Arters, Cushing; a sister, Mrs. S. M. Bevis, 802 South Water; a brother, Ernest J. Shields, of San Diego; two granddaughters and two great-granddaughters.
