It is recorded that he was the 17-year-old son of David Allen & Elizabeth Jane "Jennie" Martin of Pyramid, Kentucky. It was first listed that he was killed. Then that was marked out. Then they wrote below that he died in a logging accident. He was playing around with some other local boys on some logs on the river. Trying to walk on the logs. He fell and they were unable to recover him before he drowned. The current owner of the property where the David W Allen Cemetery is located said, as a boy he saw this grave along with other graves. Now the Cemetery is all overgrown.
