Banks Orrell, 49, resident at 508 May St., died yesterday morning at 7:50 at a veterans hospital in North Carolina. Mr. Orrell had been in the hospital there for a week, having been tranferred from the Lake City Veterans Hospital where he was a patient for five weeks.

A resident of DeLand since 1920, Mr. Orrell was born at Seville Aug. 22, 1906. He was formerly a salesman. He was a veteran of World War II, and a member of the Second Baptist Church of DeLand.

Surviving are: his widow, Mrs. Viola C. Orrell, DeLand; two sons, Robert Banks Orrell, Orlando, and Dwight Orrell, DeLand; two daughters, Diane and Suzanne Orrell, DeLand; three brothers, James Bruce, DeLand, Ruric L., New Smyrna Beach and Robert Lee, Eau Gallie; four sisters, Mrs. Kenneth Watts, Mrs. Melvin Beasley and Mrs. L. K. Ford, all of DeLand, and Mrs. Ben Aly, Apopka; and two grandchildren.

Allen-Summerhill is in charge of funeral arrangements which have not been completed.
