Frank was a retired engineer from Stone and Webster Inc. and was active in NH wildlife conservation. He and his first wife built many bird sanctuaries. After retirement, he attracted a flock of ruby-throated hummingbirds to his home in Holderness NH, many that became tame enough to sit on his finger.
