Shirley Joyce Hardy, 65, of Amarillo died Wednesday, February 8, 2006.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, with the Rev. Ronnie Mullins of Christian Heritage Church officiating. Arrangements are by Memory Gardens Crematory and Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel.

Mrs. Hardy was born July 25, 1940, in Oklahoma to Alvie Prater and Leona Shelton Prater. On August 5, 1955 in Florence, Pinal County, Arizona she was united in marriage to Robert Hiram Vancil. In January, 1969 in Imperial County, California she was divorced from Robert Vancil. On December 14, 1972 she was married to Larry Hardy in Amarillo. From 1982 to 1996 she ran a day-care center. She was also a homemaker. She made Classic Candles and Crafts.

She was preceded in death by two sisters Bernice and Virginia, and a brother, Kenneth.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Rob Hardy and Larry Hardy II, both of Amarillo; two daughters, Barbara Haile and Karen Tanner, both of Amarillo; three brothers, Melvin of California and Andy and Terry both of Oklahoma; three sisters, Patsy of California and Ester and lila, both of Oklahoma; seven granchildren and three great-grandchildren.
