Our beloved father and grandfather, Kenneth L. Bourne, passed away peacefully as the earth quaked on February 21, 2008 at 7:15 a.m. at his home in Kaysville at the age of 98. He was born May 16, 1909 in Farmington, Utah to George Alfred and Annie Lovsey Bourne. He is now reunited with his eternal sweetheart, Maurine. Ken was the second youngest of five children. As a boy he spent many hours in the saddle driving the family's cattle from Farmington to Garland. He loved horses his entire life and passed that love on to his children and grandchildren. He and his family were proud that he was a member of the Davis County Mounted Sheriff's Posse.

Ken's greatest joys were found in his wife of over 70 years, Maurine Smoot, and their three boys. Ken and Maurine were married September 6, 1933 in Farmington, Utah and their marriage was later solemnized January 13, 1954 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a High Priest in the Kaysville Eighth Ward. He worked hard all his life. He was a farmer, the greens superintendent at Oakridge Country club, and retired from the Davis School District. He enjoyed attending many "Golf Course Superintendent Association" conventions around the country. After retiring, Ken and Maurine loved traveling, including multiple cruises with their dear friends, Cliff and Virginia Larkins. They enjoyed traveling in their RV on many hunting trips with their family and camping trips with the Antelopers Camper Club. They also loved spending time with their family and friends at Bear Lake.

Ken is survived by his three sons, Richard K. (Loraine) and Robert L. (Sue) of Kaysville, Utah; Curtis A. (Connie) of Rexburg, Idaho; 12 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sweetheart, Maurine, his parents, brothers, Leland Bourne and Horace Bourne, and sisters, Florence Hess and Marie Bourne. He will always be remembered for his witty sayings and his lush green lawn and garden.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 25, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville Rock Chapel, 200 East and Center Street, Kaysville, Utah. Friends and Family may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Rock Chapel.
Interment: Kaysville City Cemetery.
