An illness extending over a period of several years culminated in the death of Chris Altick, aged 74, at his home three miles northeast of Rossville, Sunday morning. The funeral service was conducted at the residence Tuesday afternoon by the pastor of the Rossville Methodist church, and the burial was at St. Luke's.

Mr. Altick was born in Ohio, but had lived in this state since he was 16 years of age. In 1878 he married Miss Jennie Geopfert, who, with a son, Harry Altick, survives. For many years Mr. Altick lived on the Ben Bricker farm just north of Edna Mills. After leaving that place he bought a farm in Carroll county.

Mr. Altick was a fine man, well liked by all with whom he came in contact.
