Robin Denise Blackstone, 59 years 5 months and 18 days of age, of Powder Springs, Georgia, departed this life on Friday, February, 17th, 2023 following a long battle with cancer.
Robin was born in Atlanta, Georgia on Friday, August 30th, 1963, daughter of the late James Howard Blackstone and Peggy Couch Blackstone. She was the second to the youngest of eight siblings. At the age of 8 she moved to Marietta, Georgia. She was a 1981 graduate of Sprayberry High School and a Chattahoochee Technical College graduate. Robin was a former Supervisor at Six Flags in Atlanta, Georgia. She loved children and opened an in-home daycare and fostered many children in her life. Robin eventually obtained her license and training to drive a school bus and spent over twenty-five years as a Cobb County School Bus Driver. "Miss Robin" as she was affectionately known to all her students and friends, had a strong faith in God and a wonderful sense of humor. She loved holidays and birthdays with a passion and enjoyed nothing more than planning parties and get-togethers for her family and friends. Her "happy place" was the beach. Taking long walks and collecting seashells was her favorite thing to do.
Robin was survived by her beloved, Humberto Vernon, who was the love of her life; four children, Adam Chadwell, Cassie Lewis, Garrett Garwood, and Travis Krebs; eight grandchildren "whom she always referred to as her heart"; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.
Robin was preceded in death by her parents, James Howard Blackstone, who departed this life on November 20th, 2020 and Peggy Blackstone, who departed this life on November 11th, 2022.
Visitations were held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 25th, 2023 at the Mayes Ward Dobbins Funeral Home & Crematory in Marietta, Georgia
Memorial services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 25th, 2023 in the Chapel of the Mayes Ward Dobbins Funeral Home and Crematory.
