David was born on February 16, 1946 in Manitowoc, son of the late Ronald and Esther (Rosmarynowski) Jeske. He was a 1964 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. In 1964 he joined the United States Marine Corps, serving in Vietnam and was wounded on April 3, 1966 being honored with the Purple Heart and was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps in 1967. Following his Marine Corps service he served an apprenticeship in communications through NWTC. David worked in telecommunications as a lineman/supervisor with Data Tel Phone (TDS) in Valders and also was an inspector for the Michels Corporation. On January 20, 1973, he was married to Susan M. Powers at Faith Lutheran Church in Valders.
David was a life member of Amvets Post #99 of Manitowoc, Faith Lutheran Church in Valders, and was a past member of the Valders Lions Club, Rockea Hunting Club, and the Viking Bow and Gun Club of Valders. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, four wheeling, golfing, and spending time with his family at Pelican Lake.
Survivors include: his wife: Susan Jeske, Brillion; one son and daughter-in-law: Michael (Holley) Jeske, Manitowoc; one daughter and son-in-law: Renee (Justin) Massart, Manitowoc; five grandchildren: Adelyn Massart, Autumn Massart, Collin Massart, Garrett Jeske, and Taylor Jeske; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Donald (Susan) Jeske, Manitowoc, and Jeff (Peggy) Jeske, Manitowoc; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Betty (Reggie) Schmidt, Manitowoc, and Kathy (Dennis) Kujawa, Menomonee Falls; two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law: John Brown, Dunbar, Jim (Judy) Powers, Sheboygan, Vicki Jeske, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. David was preceded in death by his parents: Ronald and Esther Jeske; one brother: Daniel Jeske; one sister: Joyce Brown; two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law: Doug Newton, and James (Mary) Shawl; one nephew: Daniel Jeske; and one niece: Ronny Frehse.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, 928 S. 14th Street, Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Entombment will follow at Knollwood Mausoleum with Military Honors accorded by Amvets Post #99.
