Ronald F. Jeske, age 74, of 1318 S. 24th St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday evening, September 18, 1996, at Bellin Memorial Hospital, Green Bay.

Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 am. Saturday, September 21, 1996, at the Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Roman Zbieranski O.F.M. with entombment at Calvary Mausoleum. Graveside Military Rites will be accorded by Amvet Post #99.

He was born April 13, 1922, in the town of Cato, Manitowoc County, son of the late Theodore and Meta Kattrah Jeske Sr. Mr. Jeske was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II with the 12th Infantry 4th Division from 1942 until 1945. He assisted in the D-Day Invasion, was wounded and then received the Purple Heart plus other numerous medals upon his honorable discharge. On November 4, 1944, he married the former Esther Rozmarynowski at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Ronald was employed at Hoeffner Printing for 39 years retiring in 1986. Mr. Jeske was a life and charter member of the D.A.V. Chapter 24 and a life member of Amvet Post #99. He was also a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Men's Club and the Manitowoc Senior Center.

Survivors include his wife, Esther Jeske, Manitowoc; along with their children, David and Sue Jeske, Grimms, Daniel and Vicki Jeske, Manitowoc, Bette and Reginald Schmidt, Manitowoc, Joyce and John Brown, Suamico, Kathy and Dennis Kujawa, Menomonee Falls, Donald and Sue Jeske, Manitowoc, Jeff and Peggy Jeske, Manitowoc. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Theodore and Betty Jeske, Manitowoc, Philip and Lila Jeske, Clintonville; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Lucy Schroeder, Manitowoc, Helen Griffin, Manitowoc, Eunice and Donald Bastian, Manitowoc, Leona and Randy Harrison, Rockford, Ill.; also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Theodore Schroeder and Edwin Griffin.

Friends may call at the Pfeffer Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Friday (TONIGHT). Amvet Post #99 will meet in a body at 7 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. by Deacon Robert Drobka.
