Jo Brown, 86, of Crossville, passed away March 12, 2000, at home. Funeral services were conducted on March 15 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Mayland Cemetery. Bro. Clayton Padgett and the Rev. Russell Honeycutt officiated.
Mrs. Brown was born Dec. 8, 1913 in Cumberland County, the daughter of Hugh L. and Alberta Shillings Woody.
She was a homemaker, and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include six sons, Bennie, Ed, Frank, Tommy and Donald Brown, all of Crossville, and Clenice Brown Jr., in the U.S. Army; five daughters, Lou Ann Parsons, Linda Faye Brown, Bonnie Green and Betty Sherrill, all of Crossville, and Stacy Pugh of Montgomery, TX; brother, Hugh L. Woody Jr., and sister, Elsie Barnwell, both of Crossville; 27 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Alta Brown, two granddaughters, two grandsons, two brothers and two sisters.
Pallbearers were Jody Parsons, Micah Pugh, Steve Pugh, Ben Brown, Junior Brown and Josh Brown. Honorary Pallbearer was Snooks Conley.
Bilbrey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
