Atheara John Renn, 84, of Bloomington, (formerly of North Vernon) passed away Sunday, March 16, 2008, at Bell Trace Health and Living Center in Bloomington.

Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at Sawyer~Pickett Funeral Home in North Vernon with the Rev. Patrick Harrigan officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Military graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2008, at Crown View Cemetery in Sheridan, IN.

Born February 18, 1924, in Boone County, IN. Mr. Renn was the son of John C. and Opal Martin Renn. He married Betty Day Bryant on July 12, 1991, she survives.

Mr. Renn was a graduate of Sheridan High School. He was a Corporal in the US Army Air Corps during WW II, where he served in the 8th Air Force, 1st Air Division, 384th Bomb Group, 547th Bomber Squadron. Mr. Renn was a carpenter by trade. He had worked for Mackle Brothers, Port Charlotte, FL, then went on to own Gull Construction in Lehigh Acres, FL. Mr. Renn was a member of the Nebraska Church of God.

Mr. Renn is survived by his wife, Betty Renn of Bloomington, a step-daughter, Brenda Dvorak & Eddie Bowlen of Bloomington, IN a son, Jim & Leann Renn of Crawfordsville, IN, step-children: John & Joy Hause of Punta Gorda, FL, Dannie & Sherri Bryant of Rantoul, IL, Lloyd &Beth Bryant of Middletown, OH, James T. Bryant of Hope, IN, Edwin & Beverly Bryant Jr. of North Vernon, IN, Barbara "Bobbi" & Joe Howell of Indianapolis, IN, and Mary Broyles of Gravel Switch, KY. Three sisters: Clarann Moores of Westport, IN, LaDonna "Dot" Steed of Silver City, NM, and Maefern Amos of Merana, AZ, and a brother, Paul L. Renn of San Diego, CA, twenty-three grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Mr. Renn was preceded in death by his parents, John and Opal Renn, his first wife, Mariam King Hause, one sister, Mardella Elmore, a step-son, William Leroy Hause, and a granddaughter, Deborah Atkins.
