Mardella Pearl Elmore, 75, North Vernon, died at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2002, at her home.

Mrs. Elmore graduated from Sheridan High School in 1944. She worked for 11 years as a clerk for Eli Lilly and also TR Mallory in Indianapolis. She collected cow figurines and had numerous knick-knacks. She and her husband moved to North Vernon in 1987 after retiring.

Born April 29, 1926, in Jennings County, she was a daughter of John Renn and Opal Martin Renn. On June 19, 1959, in Indianapolis, she married Clarence Elmore, who survives in North Vernon.

Other survivors include two daughters, Connie Cooper, Manhattan, Kan., and Barbara Thuer, Arvada, Colo.; a son, Dan Elmore, Indianapolis; three sisters, Maefern Amos, Mariana, Ariz., Clarann Moores, Westport, and Ladonna Steed, Silver City, N.M.; two brothers, Atheara Renn, North Vernon, and Paul Renn, San Diego; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Gary East will conduct services at 10 a.m. Monday at Pickett Funeral Home, North Vernon. Burial will be in Garland Brook Cemetery, 501 Gladstone Ave., Columbus.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to Hospice of Jennings County.
