Mrs. Patterson, a native of Portsmouth, had retired from Jan's Tailoring. She was a Baptist and was a member of Zulekia Court 35, Ladies' Oriental Shrine of North America.
Survivors include a sister, Helen S. Bamforth, and a brother Fenner A. Satchwell Jr., both of Virginia Beach.
The memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, by the Rev. Kenneth S. Hemphill. Burial will be at sea. The family will be at the funeral home after the service. Memorial donations may be made to the Kempsville Rescue Squad.
