Faye was born on January 17, 1936 to George and Myrtle Childress. She married Bill Stafford on November 19, 1949 in which they had three daughters.

She passed away at home in Lake Station, Indiana surrounded by her loved ones on Monday, April 14, 2008.

She is preceded in her death by her parents and younger brothers, Demo and Gene Childress.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories to the love of her life, Bill and loving daughters: Donna, Beverly (Bill Manship) and Kim.
She had eight grandchildren: Tonia Henry, Mickey (Dean) Lutjens, Billy Scasny, Angela (Ken) Moreau, Jason (Shannon) Manship, J.J. (Aubrey) Rosado, Tony (Michelle) Rosado, and Bianca (Jason) Dickens.
She also had eleven great grandchildren: Nicole Scasny, Stephanie Henry, Miranda and Cassandra Lutjens, Corey and Haley Moreau, Jacob (Little Jake) and Alana Rosado, Lexi Rosado, Shane and Abby Manship
And she had two great great grandchildren: Angel Powell and Gabe Henry.
She has two surviving sisters: Joan (Joe) May of Hammond, Indiana and Ann (Bob) Parchman of Tennessee.
She has two surviving brothers: Jerry (Sherry) Childress of Portage, Indiana and Mike (Terah) Childress of Angola, Indiana.

The world was blessed when Virginia Faye was born on January 17, 1936 to George and Myrtle Childress. Faye married her sweetheart Bill Stafford on November 19, 1949 in which they had three wonderful daughters. Faye was an amazing mother, wife and homemaker. Virginia Faye is preceded in her departure by her parents, George and Myrtle Childress and younger brothers, Demo and Gene Childress. She leaves to cherish her precious memories, the love of her life, Bill Stafford and loving daughters, Donna Bogle of Angola, Beverly (Bill) Manship of Lake Station and Kim Stafford (fiancee Bob) of Angola. Faye had eight grandchildren, Tonia Henry, Mickey (Dean) Lutjens, Billy Scasny, Angela (Ken) Moreau, Jason (Shannon) Manship, J.J. Virginia Faye Stafford's family would like to welcome all friends and family in celebrating the life of Faye at Ridgelawn Funeral Home, 4201 West Ridge Road, Gary, Indiana. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2008 starting at 4 p.m until 8 p.m. The memorial service will be held on Friday, April 18, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Charles Cooper officiating. Mrs. Virginia Faye Stafford will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She will be laid to rest at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. May God Grant Her Eternal Rest.
