Death of E.A. Savage
Emory A. Savage, of Akron, died Sunday morning at St. Mary's hospital from an attack of acute appendicitis.
Mr. Savage had been ill but a short time, having only been taken sick last Thursday evening. He was brought to Winfield Saturday and taken to St. Mary's where an operation was performed in an attempt to save his life, but it was too late. The disease had gained too strong a headway and he had passed beyond a point where medical or surgical aid could help him.
His remains were taken to the home of his brother, S.W. Savage, on South Fuller street, where a short service was held this morning at eleven o'clock. From there his body was taken to Akron, where Rev. Beach, pastor of the First Methodist church of this city, preached his funeral sermon in the Akron church. Interment was made in the Akron cemetery.
Mr. Savage was well known all over the county having done a large auctioneer and stock business. He was a large healthy looking man about forty-five years old. He leaves a wife and one son to mourn his loss.
