Wife of J.S. Savage
Aged 47 years & 20 days

Winfield Daily Courier, June 6, 1889

Died.

Mrs. Mary P. Savage died at her home near Akron on the night of the 3d of June, after a sickness of about three weeks. She had been in poor health for several months. She suffered uncomplainingly, but was upheld by the Master's hand upon which she had leaned so long.
The funeral sermon has preached by her pastor, and a large concourse of friends attended her body to its last resting place.
Sister Savage was born in Bond county, Ill., May 13, 1842, and hence was a little more than 47 years old. She was married February 26, 1860. She has been a professed. and consistent Christian since she was thirteen years of age, and for the last twelve years a member of the M.E. church. She leaves a large family whose uncontrolable grief shows the high esteem in which they held her, but they c an all safely trust that what is their loss is her eternal gain.
