Robert P Harris Dies in Calif.
Funeral services for Robert P (Bob) Harris, who was born and reared in the Van Vleet community, and who moved to California some two years ago, were conducted Wednesday morning, Dec. 12, at 11 am, from the Houlka Funeral Home Chapel.
The Rev. Flenoy Clark officiated. Burial was in the Friendship Cemetery. He was 53.
Mr. Harris died Dec. 6 in a hospital in Yuba City, Calif. He was a World War II veteran and a member of the Van Vleet Baptist Church.
His wife was the late Mrs. Carrie Belle Wilson Harris. He leaves a daughter, Mrs. Mary Catherine Dover; four sisters, Mrs. Nina Duke of Houlka, Mrs. Edna Rutledge of Memphis, Mrs. Lera Harris of Mantee and Mrs. Ruby Franks of Chate Mette, La., and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: W A Gordon, Jimmy Ray Duke, Niles Stegall, Hulet Johnson, James Culpepper and Oscar Waters.
