Mrs. Elna Harris Rutledge, age 90 of Memphis, died Friday, September 16 1988 in Memphis. Funeral services were held Sunday, September 18 at Houston Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Ralph Newman officiating.
The wife of the late James W Rutledge, she was born in Chickasaw County, and had lived the last 38 years in Memphis. She was a housewife and a member of the Houlka Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Lena Belle Hill of Memphis; one son, Ralph Rutledge of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Nina Duke of Pontotoc and Mrs. Ruby Franks of St. Bernard, Louisiana; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Leon Burgess, Charles Rhodes, Elbert Lyons, Odel Burgess, James Rhodes and Sherald Finley.
Houston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
