Edmon Goforth of Dana, died at 5:05 a.m. Monday, January 19, 1998, in Southwood Health Care Center in Terre Haute. He taught mathematics and industrial arts in Clinton and Gary Schools for 40 years. His parents were Howard Goforth and Ella Reid Goforth. His first wife Mariam Bales Goforth died in 1974. His second wife Blanche Botner Saxton Goforth died in 1981. Survivors include his third wife Leila Mack Goforth of Terre Haute; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, James E. and Barbara Goforth of Dana, and Gene and Frances Goforth of Tampa, FL; 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by one son, Jack, in infancy, and 3 sisters, Meredith Mikula, Clara Nixon, and Kathryn Fletcher. He was a graduate of Helt Township High School and Indiana State University. He farmed in he Dana area after retiring from teaching and was a member of the Bono United Methodist Church, Indiana Retired Teachers' Association, and Montezuma Lodge 89 Free and Accepted Masons.
