Gerard "Gerry" Raymond Barrette, 78, died on August 5, 2013. He was born in Woonsocket, the son of the late Noe and Irene (Proulx) Barrette.

Gerry was formerly of Jamestown, and was currently residing in Port St. Lucie, Florida, with his beloved wife of 55 years, Annette (Boisseau) Barrette.

Drafted into the U.S. Army in 1956, Gerry served until 1958 when he was honorably discharged.

Gerry attended trade school in 1951, Brown University in 1956, and the International Corresponding School, 1963-1964. From 1951-1961, he worked for Gilbane Building Co., first as a rodman and field engineer, and an Assistant Superintendent. In 1962 he worked for Dimeo Construction, first as a Superintendent, then a Project Manager, Project Executive, Vice President of Operations, and finally Senior Vice President of Operations.

Gerry enjoyed salt-water fishing, his memberships in the Boat Owners Association and Jamestown Chamber of Commerce, being a parishioner of Saint Mark's Church, and his involvement as president of the Jamestown Striper Club.

Gerry is survived by his wife, Annette; daughter, Linda (Paul) Healy; his son, Denis (Leslie) Barrette, all of Florida; his grandchildren, Mallory Kowal, Bailey Kowal, Stacie Barrette and Kyle Barrette; 13 siblings, Pauline Ethier, Ernest Barrette, Alice Leduc, Emile Barrette, Roland Barrette, Cecile Leclerc, Theresa Pelland, Jeanne Boffi, Helen Cloutier, Raymond Barrette, Rita Martin, Richard Barrette, and Susan Theroux.
