Irene G. Barrette, 84, formerly of 112 Rutland St., died yesterday at The Holiday Nursing Home, Lincoln. She was the widow of Noe Barrette.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Lorenzo and Sophie (Belisle) Proulx.

Mrs. Barrette was a member of St. Agatha and St. Joan Senior Citizens and the Holy Family Christian Group.

She leaves six sons, Ernest and Raymond, both of Woonsocket, Gerard Barrette of Jamestown, Emile Barrette of Peoria, Ariz., Roland Barrette of Worcester, Mass. and Richard Barrette of Cumberland; eight daughters, Pauline Ethier, Cecile Leclerc, Therese Pelland and Helene Cloutier, all of Woonsocket, Alice Leduc of Cumberland, Rita Martin of Lincoln, Jeanne Boffi of Warwick and Suzanne Theroux of North Smithfield; two brothers, Henri Proulx of Pawtucket and Paul Proulx of Woonsocket; 41 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Ann Church, Cumberland Street. Burial will be in Precious Blood Cemetery.
