Thamer Ray Arbogast

Thamer Ray Arbogast, 82, of Lazzelle Union Road in Morgantown, died Thursday May 25, 2000, at home.

He was born July 8, 1917, in Junior, son of the late Roscoe D. and Birdie Williams Arbogast.

He was Baptist. He was a coal miner with more than 34 years of service with Coal Resources, from which he retired in 1976. He was a member of UMW Local 1058.

He is survived by four daughters and spouses, Carol and Berlin Judy, of Morgantown, Janice and Lt. Col. John L. Judy, of New Orleans, Judith and George Filhour, of Uniontown, Ohio, and Pamela and H.L. Butler, of Lexington, Ala.; two brothers, Roy B. Arbo gast, of Montana Mines, and Roscoe Dennis Arbogast Jr., of Williamstown; a sister, Dorothy Keener, of Toledo, Ohio; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Opal Elizbeth Willard Arbogast on March 10, 1991; a son, Thamer LeRoy Arbogast, on Aug. 18, 1999; a brother, Earl Arbogast; and two sisters, Willa Bo Peep and Madge Smith.

Friends may call at Hastings Funeral Home from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Friday, May 26. Service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, May 27, with the Rev. David L. Kidd Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Donations: Monong alia County Hospice, 453 Van Voorhis Road, Morgantown, WV 26505.
