Master Of Freight Boats Dies At Residence In Milton
Funeral services for Capt. Jessie P. Helms, 67, who died at his home in Milton yesterday morning, will be conducted from the family residence at 11 o'clock this morning with Rev. R. W. Carlton officiating.
Capt. Helms was well known in Pensacola, having operated the freight boats Elmer and Swan between here and Milton for more than 15 years. He leaves his widow; three sons, H. E. and Glyn, of Milton and C. E. Helms, of Pensacola; one daughter, Mrs. Jacob Smith, of Milton; one sister, Mrs. Queen Petersen, of Pensacola and one brother, R. M. Helms, of Milton.
Pallbearers will be: R. P. Foreman, Eyles Hicks, George Leonard, Dick Perry, A. L. Johnson and C. R. Hamilton. Funeral arrangements are in charge of L. D. Wolfe, of Milton.
