Mrs. Posey was a native of Houston, but had lived in Okolona most of her life. She was the daughter of James Clarence Gann and Vannie Mae Criddle. She was a sewing machine operator at a furniture plant. She was affiliated with the First Baptist Church of Okolona.
She is survived by her parents; two daughters, Mrs. Rhonda Prater of Meridian, and Miss Donna Rose Posey of Okolona; two sons, Cecil Ladon Posey of Okolona and Danny Ray Posey of Fulton; two sisters, Mrs. Zack Hurt of Okolona and Mrs. Bonnie Wilkes of Huntsville, Ala.; two brothers, Mahlon and Melvin Gann, both of Houston.
Pallbearers were Bobby Lewis Gann, Walter Evans Gann, David Lewis Criddle, Eugene Criddle, Joe Criddle, and Curtis Gann.
