Dale Laverne Hillman was born Sept 4, 1934, in Hartland Township, Worth County, the sone of Arthur and Bertha (Hanson) Hillman. He was baptized and confirmed in First Shell Rock Lutheran Church, and attended and received his elementary education in the rural county school system. In 1954, he was inducted into the US Army, serving in Korean Conflict, until his honorable discharge in 1957. On May 16th, 1963 he married Ilah Lum in Sioux Falls SD. In 1978 he began working for the Alden Concrete Plant, working for them until his death. He was a member of First Shell Rock Lutheran Church and the Glenville American Legion Post 264. Survivors include his wife Ilah, Glenville, daughters Cheryl Henriksen and husband Scott, Glenville, and Kathy Kingstrom, Colorado Springs, CO; four step sons, Leonard Christianson, Claire(Mary) Christianson, Gary Christianson all of Northwood and Howard Christianson, Sunnyvale, CA; six sisters Inex Henricks, Walnut Creek, CA; Delores Appel, Northwood, Bernice (Roy) Stevens, Albert Lea, MN, Dorothy (Wayne)Estes, Northwood, Mavis (DeWayne) Roppe, Northwood, and Janice(Merle) Skogen, Albert Lea, MN.

Four Grandchildren, Nicole Henriksen, Kristina Hillman, Jessica and Miranda Kingstrom; and eight step-grandchildren Linda Ouverson, Lorna Reyerson, Dean, Lon, Ian, Bryan, Bradley and Kerby Christianson; brother-in-law Hershel Stevens, Albert Lea, MN; Sister-in-Law Harriet Mork and her Husband Lloyd, Dresser WI.

He was preceded in Death by his parents, a son Larry Hillman; two brothers Arlington and Harris Hillman; and two sisters Ruth Stevens and Ruby Hillman
