1900 and 1910 Federal Census records list her as Luella M, and then Maurice. In her Oklahoma Marriage record she is listed as Mourane L. Offutt. Subsequent records list her as Maurine L. Turner, till her obituary

Married first to Bert G. Turner November 1, 1915. Maurine married L. R. Smith in 1936 in Sebastian County, AR.

Printed in the Saturday, April 15, 1944 edition of the Tulsa Daily World on page 10. "Mrs. Maurine L. Smith, 48, Dies at Home Here - Mrs. Maurine L. Smith, 48 years old, 1439 East Admiral, died Friday morning at her home. The Tulsa funeral home will be in charge of funeral arrangements. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Lois Jennings of the WACs; the mother, Mrs. Alice Offutt, 2225 East Ute; three brothers. Earl Offutt, 1350 North Denver; William Offutt, 1302 South Troost, and Carl Offutt, 2225 East Ute, and five sisters, Mrs. O. W. Blevins, 1207 West Archer, and Mrs. Russell Graham, Mrs. Alma Wells, Mrs. A. E. Abbott and Mrs. Beulah McKee, all of Bakersfield, Cal."
