Funeral services for Annie May Van Gundy, 78, were held Sunday at Hill Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Floyd Sibley officiating. Interment was in Riverview Cemetery. She died on October 16, 1964 at Kiowa District Hospital. She was born on September 3, 1886 in Kiowa to Walter and Lucy Emily (Humphrey) Brannan. She married Abraham Jefferson Van Gundy on September 1, 1905 in Alva, Oklahoma. He died on September 18, 1962. She also was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Dorsey Harold Brannan, George Cameron Brannan, and Roy Baldwin Brannan; and her sisters, Birdie Bell Morris and Gertrude Brannan. She is survived by her sons, Charles Edward Van Gundy of Valley Center and Ralph Eugene Van Gundy of Wichita; her daughter, Mildred Marion Schwartz of Kiowa; her sister, Lucy Emily Strohmeier of Riverside, California; two grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.
