OBITUARY
November 17, 1938 "Kiowa News Review & Record"
Kiowa, Kansas
George Cameron Brannan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Brannan, who had recently resided in Texhoma, Oklahoma, was born on March 3, 1888 in Kiowa, and passed away on November 12, 1938 at the hospital in Dalhart, Texas, a few hours after an accidental gunshot wound, at the age of 50 years, 8 months and 9 days. Mr. Brannan had lived practically all of his life among his friends and relatives in this community. As a child he was baptized into Episcopal Church. He belonged to American Legion, Albert Pike Lodge, Masonic Lodge, Wichita Consistery and Midian Shrine. His sudden demise has bereft two sisters of an only brother. The sisters are Annie Van Gundy of Kiowa and Lucy Strohmeier of Arlington, California. Besides these there is a large circle of relatives and friends who will miss his familiar voice. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday from Congregational Christian Church by Rev. Charles Shook. Interment was made in Riverview Cemetery.
