Memorial services for Mrs. Ada G. Rich, 68, of Monroe, were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 6, 1999, from Midway Christian Church. A military service followed at Cope Cemetery with Byrdstown Memorial Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. She was the daughter of the late Adah and Jesse W. Rich Sr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Jesse Rich Jr., Daniel Rich, Bill Rich, George Rich, and John Rich. Mrs. Rich, a retired master sergeant for the U.S. Marine Corps, died Tuesday, November 2, 1999. She was a member of the Roaring River Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Survivors include nine sisters, Fran Williams, Knoxville, Alba Johnson, Lake City, Ava Allred, Old Hickory, Enola Roehrer, Margaret Huckeby, Norma Kerbaugh, and Jean Parsons, all of Monroe, Sandra Rich, Sparta, and Jane Lefew, Harrisburg, NC; five brothers, Clif Rich, Stockton, CA, Sam Rich, Columbus, MI, Perry Rich, Monroe, Mannion Rich, Atlanta, GA, and Kelly Rich, Jamestown; many nieces and nephews; a godson, Adam Robbins; and a host of friends.
