MERCER DISPATCH
April 4, 1902

Mr. Daniel Perrine, one of the most widely known citizens of Sandy Lake township died at his home at 11 p.m., Friday, death resulting from a paralytic stroke. During the afternoon of Friday he had been in his usual health, and it was while he was transacting business in Sandy Lake that he was prostrated. He was at once removed to his home and the family physician called, but medical skill was of no avail, and surrounded of members of his family and friends he passed to the other life. He leaves, besides Mrs. (Elizabeth) Perrine, four daughters, Mrs. H. C. Zeigler, Montpelier, Ind.; Mrs. W. G. Barker, Mercer; Mrs. W. A. Boyd, Mrs. W. S. Watson, and one son, Charles W. Perrine, of Sandy Lake, to mourn their loss.
Daniel Perrine was born near Perrine's Corners, Worth Township, June 23, 1834. While his principal occupation has been farming he has always been more or less engaged in other business, and was rated a man of sound judgment and excellent business tact-a man whose opinions were considered sound, whose advice was often sought, and whose counsel was relied upon. In short, he was one of the leading men of his neighborhood, and he will be greatly missed, not only by his family, business associates and neighbors, but by many to whom, unknown to the world, he was "a friend in time of need."
Mr. Perrine was one of the principal promoters of the Stoneboro Agricultural society, for years had served faithfully as a director, and his standing with the officers and directors is reflected in the following minute adopted at a meeting of the board held on Saturday:

Whereas, It has pleased Almighty God to remove from our midst our friend, associate and co-laborer, Daniel Perrine, and
Whereas, A proper respect for the memory of the deceased calls for an expression of regret on account of this sad bereavement which has deprived us of the companionship of a kind and generous friend, a courteous associate and an upright and faithful member, therefore be it
Resolved, That in the death of Mr. Daniel Perrine this society has lost an active, energetic and useful member, his family a kind and affectionate husband and father, and the community an upright, honorable and exemplary citizen.
Resolved, that to his stricken widow and sorrowing children we extend our heartfelt sympathy.

Died: March 28, 1902
Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Sandy Lake Twp., Mercer Co., PA
